KNOXVILLE WORLD'S FAIr PARK AMPITHEATER RE-ENVISIONED

SPRING 2024 KNOXVILLE, TN

This project explores the development of a tensile structural system for a proposed amphitheater at Knoxville’s World’s Fair Park using Grasshopper as a generative design and analysis tool. Drawing inspiration from precedents such as the Sun Station in Santiago de Chile and the CU Valles project, the design investigates space truss systems anchored to concrete structural bases and secondary structural elements that provide additional support to the tensile form. Through parametric scripting, the project examines structural archetypes, structure to skin relationships, energy considerations, and material properties.
