Jigsaw is a furniture piece that aims to provide variable and multifunctional design. The configuration promotes movement and changeability through a system in which pieces fit together to create a myriad of scenarios. The potential configurations of the block pieces are curated to fit the user’s preference and can be enjoyed by all ages. The “lego” like blocks can be taken apart and reconfigured to reduce wasted space while maximizing the potential for multipurpose yet simplistic design.

The fabrication process utilized the University of Tennessee’s fabrication lab for CNC milling purposes to cut and fit pieces together seamlessly. The project sparked creative thinking and problem solving processes, challenging us to develop and design some sort of solution, and follow that design through to become a tangible piece of furniture.
