FURNITURE DESIGN

During the Spring of 2026, I explored techniques in the woodshop practicing my design and fabrication skills as I constructed a footstool, balancing ergonomic function and aesthetic composition.

These photographs illustrate the progression from fabrication to presentation, showcasing the craftsmanship behind the piece and a range of iterative staging explorations.

The footstool feels intentionally caught between furniture and object. Designed to be both functional and sculptural, the footstool adapts to diverse interior environments. Its restrained form, natural finish and patterned textures allow it to complement a range of material palettes while challenging the space’s overall composition as it maintains a distinct identity.
